Privacy Policy & Data Use

1. What we collect

Depending on your role and the features you use, the Platform may collect:

• Account data: name, school email, grade, class, class number, and avatar.
• Learning data: reading answers, submissions, grades, feedback, and learning progress.
• Usage data: feature usage and completion records, used for teaching follow-up and platform improvement.
• Security and technical data: technical and audit records required for sign-in and system security.

2. How data is used

Data collected is mainly used for:

• account sign-in and identity management;
• assigning, collecting, and marking learning activities;
• providing learning feedback and helping teachers understand learning progress;
• platform operation, security, and troubleshooting; and
• improving the Platform's teaching features and user experience.

The Platform will not use students' personal data for advertising or sell it to third parties.

3. AI and third-party services

Some Platform features use third-party cloud and AI services, including DeepSeek, Supabase, and Google, as well as services used for read-aloud audio. For example:

• AI marking and teacher preparation: relevant learning content or teacher-provided materials are passed to AI services as required by each feature.
• Database and file storage: provided by Supabase.
• School account sign-in: uses Google's sign-in service.
• Read-aloud audio: the text of some articles is sent to a speech service to generate read-aloud audio.

Third-party services process data only to the extent needed to provide the relevant Platform features. The Platform does not provide student data to third parties for advertising purposes.

4. Cross-border data processing

Servers or data processing locations of some third-party services may be outside Hong Kong. The Platform arranges data processing according to actual feature needs and applicable privacy requirements, and keeps these arrangements under review.

5. Data retention

Learning and usage records are kept as needed for teaching and administrative purposes. Deleted content may remain in system backups or trash for a period of time before being cleared under the Platform's data management policy.

After a student graduates or leaves the school, their account and related personal data are handled according to the school's needs and applicable data retention requirements.

6. Data security

The Platform takes appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, use, modification, or disclosure, including account permission management, database access control, sign-in security measures, and system auditing.

7. Your rights

Under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, you may request access to, or correction of, the personal data the Platform holds.

Students can do so via their class teacher or subject teacher, who will contact the school platform administrators.
